Information Age? Not Yet

Calling today the Information Age is like claiming all the socio-economic benefits of the industrial revolution at the advent of the Spinning Mule.  The internet will certainly be thought of as the tool that launched humanity into the Information Age, but we don’t quite have a way to harness the power of the data deluge that it unleashed.  New analyses, tools, models and visualization techniques will all help us reach that goal.

Speaking of the industrial revolution, here is a fascinating example of turning life expectancy/income/country data into an astonishingly informative history lesson.
